Lead and Piano
Born Christine Hannah July 8th in Brookwood AL, music has always been a big part of her life. Even as a child, she always loved to sing and enjoyed singing in church. “Singing would give me such an inner peace and I always found comfort in singing. I asked God to use me for His Glory, and he has led me to so many different churches, Non-Profits or Christian events. I simply love the Lord, love to sing and enjoyed worshipping God everyday of my life”.
She dedicated her life to Jesus in June 1955 and was baptized by Bro J. A. Roberts in Bessemer AL. Since that day my hope was to bless others by sharing my talents of piano player and vocal lead. Christine says “Just as music speaks to my heart, my hope is that through the music I play and the songs that are sung, others' hearts will be touched as they hear the message of Jesus Christ.” One day in Feb 1961, Christine was playing piano at Brighton Church of God as the church pianist when she met Archie Dotson, who had came there for a singing as a “special guest.” He became her best friend and three months later her husband for life.
They have now been married 46 years and were blessed with two beautiful daughters, who performed with the group until they left for college, then marriage. Christine’s family now consists of daughter’s Chrysta Leigh and her husband Tommy Russell of Maplesville AL and Alicia Renae and her husband Wesley Bright of Gautier Mississippi. She has been well blessed with 3 grandchildren: Lauren and Evan Russell, and Luke Bright.
When Christine is not busy cleaning up after Archie, she enjoys sewing, cooking and listening to the gospel music of Mike Perkey.
Christine and Archie currently attends New Life Baptist Church in Jasper when we are not on the road performing. She also enjoys dining at Golden Corral Restaurant having her favorite “turnip greens”, and cheering on her favorite football team “ALABAMA”!!
When I am singing the energy comes from my inner spirit and is so intense the hearts of the audience can feel the power of the spirit and are moved to join me in praising our Heavenly Father. The forgiveness I’ve received is delivered in a powerful display of musical energy. Emotions connect, melodies soar and Jesus is lifted up. My goal is to “win” the lost at any cost. Often quoted on how she does all she does she states, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
